Schedule at Preschools |
|
Introduction
The preschools have become more and more popular all throughout the country. Majority of the parents rely on preschools for the pre-primary education of their children as the preschools focus on the complete development of the child and not simply take care of them. But the schedules at preschools are also generally designed to cater to the needs of the working parents.
Schedule at Preschools
There are part time as well as full time preschools and therefore the schedule at preschools may differ. But all preschools wish to inculcate a sense of discipline by following a routine and also allotting different time for different activities .
When the children enter the school in the morning, they are taught to greet the teacher. Then there is circle time when the teacher and children sit together and interacts with children. They discuss various topics and also conduct learning sessions. The teacher entertains and educates the children by telling them short stories.
Then, there is free choice session. The children can select different activities that are available in the classroom, which includes block building, dress-up, painting, drawing and puzzle solving. They are initiated to play with others. The children learn how to play independently, co-operate with others during this session.
It is followed by the group activities including singing and dancing. The children are taught some new skills. Then, there is a time for lunch. The children are trained to eat by themselves. Either, the children carry their own lunch or it is provided in the preschools. Following the lunch, all children have their afternoon nap.
Then, there is a particular time for outdoor games. The children enjoy running, climbing, crawling, and playing with the ball. These activities help the children to develop muscle control, balance and motor co-ordination. It is followed by a clean-up program. The children are taught to maintain the personal cleanliness and hygiene. After that, there is session of story-telling and Rhyme recitation. It is the time to say ‘Good-bye’ in the afternoon.
Although the above description of preschool schedules gives us some understanding of the working of the preschools, the schedule at preschools may be different at different places. |
